I needed an attorney for my most recent tower since the county declared
it commercial in direct conflict with the codes that explicitly exempted
amateur radio towers from the rather onerous commercial permitting
process. That was the personal agenda of some bureaucrat not liking
towers. Others in the process (engineering and health) were very helpful.
I was surprised to find my usual law firm had a "communications"
practice and they referred me to a part timer that took care of the
county quickly and cheaply and the permit was issued. She was well
familiar with the county codes. Her practice involved cell, BCB, and
municipal installations. So also check around with larger local law
firms as they may have a relevant practice with deep local knowledge.

I strongly agree with Tim and Jeff, and K1VR is absolutely first rate.
NEVER trust a real estate agent (salesman) to know or even to be
truthful about this. FAR too much money is (and your happiness) at
risk. Buy "Up the Tower" and also K1VR's book.

In fact I even felt the need to talk to attorney’s in the know over
here on a replacement tower for my existing permitted structure that
needed to be changed out, let alone when I move in the future to a

We spend so much $ on so many things in life, for me I’ll spend
consultation and research fees to help me make a great decision...
beyond what I’ll pay a realtor.
Steve’s book and Fred’s writings were very helpful when I went
through my third permit process as times change even in the same
zones in the same city. Each process was different with rule changes
pro and con occurring over three decades.

I would strongly recommend you engage with Fred K1VR so he can
help you check out potential QTHs. The problem is that there are so
many places where antenna restrictions can hide that it's almost
impossible for someone not in the biz to ferret them all out.
