building code authority and no locally adopted building code. There is,
however a state code that could be applied in the event you were to start
building hog farms next to schools, for example."

It is interesting to note that this statewide building code minimum applies
to single and 2 family dwellings, and not auxiliary structures. Personal
use ham towers are almost always classified as auxiliary use structures -
like a shed or outbuilding.
Vermont is similar to Oklahoma. Some towns have codes some don't. The
State cares about well and septic. The towns care about zoning and set back
to property lines and allowed uses. But when it comes to codes and
arbitrarily applied height of structures, that is a widely varied situation
across the state.
Vermont is also similar to Oklahoma in that both states have State Statutes
that invoke PRB-1 language however only if a particular municipality
ordinance deals with the subject.
Every State is different. Not all are "out for blood" but many are.
