I had similar issue with a Fluke VOM. I fixed it (for a while) by taking 
it apart and cleaning contacts. I have a couple of those vintage AEA 
analyzers, one for HF and the other for VHF. I have the HF unit set up 
for 75 ohms (DIP switch inside).
