I stopped by a closing Radio Shack, and there were some 25 foot rolls of
RG-58 with crimp connectors, regular price of about $20, being closed out
for $1.92 Seemed like a good deal. This field day, I needed an antenna
feed, so I cut off a connector and stripped the coax back. There was so
little shield, It looked to be maybe 50% or even less. Also, the wires were
so thin, it was nearly impossible to cut off the jacket without breaking
many. I've seen Dollar Store audio cables and RG-6 made with more copper.
This stuff is JUNK. Not even worth $1.92. This, from a person that used
Tandy RG-8 and 58 from maybe 10 years ago, and, while it was not Belden, it
was decent, well, ok -- usabel. --Mike, WV2ZOW
