I own a Tashjian LM354-HDSP (motorized “crank up”). It has been up for 2 years
now with no problems.
Running a bundle of Times LMR-400UF, a SteppIR control cable, and a heavy-duty
rotor cable to my Orion 2800. Used Gorilla Tape at 3 foot intervals to secure
the cables together.
Also use KF7P’s standoff arms. When the tower extends, the bundle feeds very
smoothly through the arms, when it retracts, same thing. Cables have never been
caught on the arms. The bundle coils itself near the tower base on a pile of
medium-fine gravel, so it stays pretty dry. By pure luck of the tower
orientation and its location in my yard, the cable/coil receives a lot of shade
during the day, even in the blazing California sun and I’m happy with how well
it all works.
