Well, the trick with the T2X and LM-470 (Thank you, Skip, KJ6Y.) is to install spacers or similar in order to adjust the height of the rotor plate to center the rotor's widest dimension in the open space between struts. I have used hose clamps on each of the vertical members with their housings facing into the inside of the tower in order to support the rotor plate. I believe others have simply welded the plate in the desired position.

The G2800 location was quite critical, although I did get it to work. I don't remember what the key was, but I know others have complained about the same problem and the lack of a commercially available right-angle connector.

Now you guys got me worried.
About to buy/install G-2800DXA Yaesu into LM-354E (not the "HD.") You may recall my multiple T2X w/Pro-57b woes; I've decided 1st class this time w/the G2800DXA. Seeing your msg now I'm worrying the G2800 may not even fit in between the LM354's bars? Perhaps I should try the G1000 1st??? I can drill the adapter plate, that's no biggie. However I had a hell of a time getting the 1st Tailtwister T2X installed between the tower horizontal supports at the top of tower. Ended up "slightly" bending one of the very top cross "/\/\/\/" bars so I could get the T2X in (It fit adapter-plate holes.) It moves up/down anywhere in top section; typically placing it several cross bars down f/top to avoid the slightly bent section @ top. (15' mast) Winds here never really big as we have a mild-salt-air environment. Largest wind ever recorded here @ a nearby airport (& my wx station) was a short gust of 95mph/sustained ~65ish. Once in a half-century storm. I'm not going to worry about wx here. Q: Should I try G1000 1st before going to the 2800? Will fitment be critical between the two?
Thank you, Dave K6JOX
