1/2" and 3/4" EMT is designed with an alloy that is easily bendable.
It's likely the larger sizes use the same alloy. IOW a bad choice for a
Gin Pole.
I purchase 2" 6061-T6 with 0.25" wall (mill finish) that comes in stock
lengths of 24, half dozen at a time. They deliver right to my shop door
for no extra charge.'. I use it for masts and gin poles.
I'd need to call for current prices

The steel used for electrical conduit, even heavy-wall, is not
designed for mechanical strength, and is probably a poor choice for

I was looking at EMT but I see the wall thickness is .065
