Subject: Re: [TowerTalk] March QST cover
People who say "Much ado about nothing" miss the entire point which is a
cover photo displaying unsafe practices.
To the Contrary: It is much ado about something important. The sad part
is those who are incapable of seeing that.
I's nice that safety precautions were taken when the photograph was
taken. Although that is certainly important, the real import is the
impact of what the photo presents and how it is presented as a cover photo.
To call this much ado about nothing does a great disservice to safety in
tower work. The proper presentation to the uninitiated, (public and most
hams), is paramount.

## The damage is done. Did anybody actually read the entire article ? Its
in a national trade publication.

Wireless estimator was not impressed..now it’s a national embarrassment.
Sure its just a front cover,
and most savvy hams that own a tower know whats going on. What about the
newbie, who is contemplating
his 1st tower? What if it was a pix of a ham poking about his hb 8877 amp,
with top lid off, and no safety
interlock. Look carefully, and you will see her hair is 1 ft lower than her
shoulders. 10 mph wind, and it all gets
tangled up into everything. One of the female techs at work got her long hair
sucked across the intake of a pair
of high rpm, high hp centrifugal cooling blowers. Stuck to the finger guards
like glue, and no easy way to shut
them off.
