K6TU can do it for you - if you want to do it yourself I wrote up a little
blurb on how to do it - I've done it MANY times when looking for property...

write to me at the ARRL address and I'll send it to you if interested...
note it is a bit of work and TU does everything for you.

This was going to be my recommendation as well. Not to mention the
outstanding support from K6TU. Wholeheartedly recommend that site!

K6TU will generously do the heavy lifting for you. That was the only way I
could get HFTA to work for me. Go to:

Subject: [TowerTalk] MicroDEM problems
I'd like to use HFTA to compute an appropriate tower for a new QTH, but
I'm
having problems just getting GIS data into MicroDEM. I've tried several
formats of data from the "National Map" per the instructions but MicroDEM
doesn't want to open any of the downloads.
Has anyone done this recently (ie, current MicroDEM version) who can give
me
an example of a download URL that works for any US location as an example?
Tnx & 73,
Wayne, K2DT
