Some info which may help since the internals are similar at
http://wf0gm.fpage.com/rotor1.htm
I've had more problems with the controller pointer mechanism than the
rotator (2800) or spring for a Green Heron.
My preferred grease is SuperLube TFE loaded full synthetic for
temperature stability, long life, and corrosion protection.

You might need to replace the balls if rusted, McMaster has them in
stainless.

Hello!
As many of you know, I'm beginning the planning phase of my first serious
tower project and am hoping for help from the list. (The result from my
first question: The site appears to be 250' or so from the shack, away from
house-generated noise, away from falling tree danger and danger of falling
on the house, and at an esthetic location but within reasonable reach of
the shack.) Here is my next question:
I'm lucky enough to have a (working?) used Yaesu G-2800SDX that was mounted
for a number of years and stored after that for a while by the person I
bought it from. I'm planning on plugging it in on the bench and see if it
moves correctly when the box is manipulated.
I live in Minnesota with some of the widest yearly temperature swings in
North America. I'm thinking of pulling apart, cleaning, and re-greasing the
motor head before putting it up.
Advice on "how to" disassembly, "what with" grease, and "how to" bench test
would be highly appreciated!
