John,

Short of suggesting that you should consider remoting the transmitter, and
linking the receiver IF back via 10 GHz gunplexer or digital via internet, all
of which likely be more expensive, let me see if I can help.
Are you saying you need RF cable of 5,000 ft. to go from your shack to your
antenna? Yikes! I think you may need 5,000 ft for various transmission
lines?

If you want to contact me direct, please do and I will give you options that
are the least expensive on up. Please confirm the above, and also tell me what
freqcy coverage you will be operating, the xmtr power out (I can give you RF
power attenuation for ea option, and general cost involved. I can't get into
prices on this net.) If as I suspect there will be more than a few
transmission lines involved, then please give me answers for each line. Also,
if so, have you considered a remote coax switch so that you only have one cable
from shack to destination (if the destination can be somewhat common to all
ant's involved)?

I'm really amazed though if you do need 5,000 ft of transmission line. Also,
don't you need control line for ancillary items, to include rotor cable . More
I think in general if ant point is in fact 5,000 ft away, you should be doing
a remote operation build out.

I have calculated the footage I need for my new station to be about 5000 feet.
I was hoping to use hardline but wondered if there is a cheaper yet as good
option? NY6DX
