Hi Jeff. I have 4 els on 20M on a 34 ft boom and its “significantly more
effective” than a 3 el tribander. The difference between my antenna and a
C19XR (3 el on 20) or 4 el STEPP IR might be less noticeable.

Ed, that sounds like a good combo. And something that would not overload the
tower.
I'm curious from some of those who have had or have four elements on 20 how
much of a real world difference do you see/hear between three and four elements
on 20 m?
Also I am assuming that the tower ratings are based on the tower being fully
extended am I correct in that thinking?
Thanks,
Jeff, N0OST

At 55 ft, the performance is as much about terrain as it is antenna. You do
have some capability with that tower which is rated at 21 sq ft.
If you are looking for all bands on one antenna, the SteppIR seems to be a
great choice.
The C19XR from Force 12 with a Cushcraft 2 el 40 above would also be a good
combo and would allow you to get the 40 meter beam up at 65 ft on a mast.
Personnally, this would be my choice.
