For my Tessco account, I'm seeing the same price $3.11 for RFS LC78-50JA-A7
I found AVA5-50 for the same price from another supplier a while ago.
Every "super deal" price I've seen on RFS at Tessco was "no stock".
Digging a bit into the specs
DC resistance ohms/K-ft total weight % vs
LDF5 conductivity % vs LDF5
AVA5 center .41 shield .34 .75 (0.30
lb/ft) 91 91
RFS LC78 center .47 shield .47 .94 (0.28
lb/ft) 85 72
LDF5-50A center .32 shield .36 .68 (0.33
lb/ft) 100 100
Which is contrary to experience that AVA shield is much thinner than
LDF5. So what is different about the shield copper?
And if losses are resistance driven at HF, how can the loss per 100 ft
at 10MHz be essentially the same for all three and the lowest resistance
cable have the highest loss?
loss db/100ft @ 10MHz
AVA5-50 0.105
LCF78-50JA-A7 0.105
LDF5-50A 0.112
One wonders......

I'm signed in at Tessco - I can't find this specific part number and
the lowest price I'm seeing is $3.11 for the 50JAA7 (list of $4.75).

What do you think of this stuff ? It sells for about one third of 7/8
Heliax and very close in loss.

It's basically identical to LDF heliax. It's about 1.80/ft from
Tessco now.
RFS brand connectors are $30 each. I used it to build out a repeater
site a
few months back, it's great stuff.
It's the reason the value of used heliax needs to be re-evaluated.
