This trick can work with split driven element feeds but I don't think it
works with a beta match fed on a tribander.

Has anyone tried this combination? DX Engineering sells a kit to add a 3
element passive driven yagi to the boom of an HF yagi. Their literature as
well as W1ZR's refer to using it with a conventionally fed yagi, not
something like the TH-5's beta match with dual driven elements. Looks to me
like just mounting the director might be impossible with the the beta match
mounting hardware all over the boom.
