There is no simple answer because SteppIR have gradually improved the
design and quality of the fiberglass tubes and the EHU moldings. Today's
SteppIRs might well survive in conditions where older models failed.
However, the fiberglass elements are probably tougher on rotators.
Compared with equivalent aluminum elements, the fiberglass elements do
tend to wave about more in the wind, and so cause more cyclic fatigue
stress in the rotator gears.
