Power line noise is a real pain. Certainly Pacific Power must have a web
site with contact information! I have Duke Energy and was contacted a few
days after filing an online complaint. RFI is given a low priority, but
they do have to fix it. They should have an RFI guy with expensive DF
equipment. Moisture stops the arcing so it being quiet after rain is
typical. Check in with the RFI list for more information.

All,
For a number of years, I have been living with some low
level power line noise. It comes and goes usually depending on the weather.
Rain usually clears it up for a few days to a week or more. Lately, it has
gotten much worse, making it nearly useless to try and operate 20m and
lower. Anyway, I have performed all of the tests to verify it is not coming
from my home. I have performed a bit of RDFing to locate the pole(s) it is
coming from. Now that is all fine and good. However my electricity provider
is Pacific Power otherwise known as Pacificorp. I have searched the internet
high and low trying to locate how to contact the utility to file a complaint
to get it fixed. Does anyone know how to go about contacting the utility to
get this issue addressed. I have a tower project that will be starting is a
few weeks, and I would like to get it cleared up before I get the tower
finished. Hopefully one of you guys (and gals) know who to contact to get
this resolved.
Thanks
Mitch KJ7JA
