Maybe more of the mech eng types could ring in on this one but with
quite small deflections as generated by wire tension gauges I would
expect the variations in readings from SS sailboat rigging to EHS to be
minimal and as Grant said for relative measurements used to equalize
tension the absolute value of the reading is not important only the
variation from one wire to the next.
I have seen but never owned a tension gauge and have tuned plenty of
sailboat rigs using an eyeball up the mast and a personally
"calibrated" archery type tug on the cables at equal distant positions.
I never had to deal with jumper struts or wires with their lower ends
terminated aloft.
As a more cautious "senior" the cost of a tension gauge vs the cost of
disaster would drive me to getting my hands on a gauge irrespective of
the number of installations reported to have survived for centuries of
major storms after being calibrated by the integration of intuition,
Ouija board sessions, and responses from the "Magic 8 Ball."

Good idea, however, it is specified for a 5/32 max wire diameter. IIRC
that is less than 3/16 or 1/4" EHS that is used for tower guys. Then
the not so small matter it is designed for 1x19 stainless steel wire
rope, not 1x7 EHS guy wire.
A model with 3/16 to 9/32 wire capacity is the Loos 90 Model B, again
for 1x19 sailboat rigging. With the substantial flexibility
difference between these rope constructions it will need to be
calibrated with a dynamometer tension gauge for the EHS being
measured. Otherwise the readings are only relative, which is useful.

So LOCOLOC is a sub-division of Loos?

It looks identical to a Loos PT1 because it is a Loos PT1

I'm looking at one that seems identical to the Loose gauge.
Seems like its worth the cost to ensure all guy lines are tensioned up
equally.

But its good for up to 800lbs.
