Tom-
All the warnings about guying towers according to the book aside,
I have a short tower at my hunting cabin that I put up in the fall
and take down in the spring. It is guyed to 3 trees right at the base of
each
maybe 6" above ground level. I use a short piece of chain with a grab hook
to go around the trees. I certainly would not do it this way but for the
temporary nature of my setup, but is has served well for several years.
One caveat is that seldom will you have 3 trees available that are situated
equidistant from the tower, and this necessitates tensioning each guy
differently so as to avoid putting unequal stresses on the legs of the
tower.

Has anyone used trees as guy anchors for a 50' Rohn 25 tower?
If so what was your method of attachment?
Thanks
