Subject: [TowerTalk] Shrink Tubing
All:
Is there shrink tubing that will reliably shrink by a 4:1 ratio? I tried
using some tubing I had on hand to cover several N-connector jumpers
with LMR-240 cable. It worked fine on the connector, but would not
shrink around the 1/4 inch cable.
Any suggestions?
Tony
## use smaller- suitable heat shrink on the LMR-240 cable ...1st, to
build up its thickness. Then the bigger OD shrink to cover both the
connector and the built up cable.
## Most T+B industrial heat shrink tubing, the type with the ribs on the
inside and the glue also on the inside, will have at least a 4:1 ratio.
They will list the shrink ratios in the catalog for each type.
## You could also use tape or similar items to build up the thickness
of the 240 cable.
