I have a V beam nominally aimed at Spain, no great planning, just worked
out that way.
It's about 325 feet each leg, over a lake. Sometimes as much as an "S"
unit better than
the inverted V at 85 feet at apex, 80 meter version, ends about 30 feet
above ground.
According to antenna books a Vee beam (if memory is right) gain is 3 db
plus the number
of wavelengths. Works fine most times, though I switch between both,
sometimes the
inverted V is better. I suspect arrival angle, etc at play.
Anyway, it was worth the effort.

Hi all,
I think I have the space to do this, although the property is heavily
wooded with oak trees.
I've modeled a V-beam with 219 feet legs for 40 meters.
Eznec is showing a gain of about 10dbi.
I'm wondering if anyone in the group has experience with this type of
antenna?
If so, what did you think about it?
Tnx
