Hello Patrick

I have one of those climbing belts, rarely use it anymore. They are not that
safe.

Currently use dbi Sala tower gear and accessories. This combined with tools
and test gear is close to 60 pounds, along with steel toed, nylon reinforced
sole shoes. This keeps all those OSHA rules and such happy.

Last Saturday (08/15/2015), I was on a 400' commercial tower.... working
between the 380 - 400' agl mark for >10 hours.
The ground crew was vital on sending up support supplies. No elevator, good
ol' physical endurance.

I'm available within a ~100 mile radius. Still planning on doing tower work
for another 20 years.

Thanks,
James

What do I think?   I think you need a good shock absorbing climbing harness.
I still have my super duty climbing belt with
two super stout steel cable lanyards guaranteed to break your back in a fall
situation or mush up some o' yo' innards.  ...and then I got the harness...
and then I customized a tower to tilt over...and then  I ordered a
crank-up/tilt-over tower and a TiltPlate so I can do all
installs, maint, etc. of tower, antenna, and rotator with my boots on the
ground.
Well... almost all.. I may have to use an 8 foot painter's ladder to access
the rotator.

 Be safe, Mark.
