Right, and then using a relatively inexpensive N to UHF adapter if you
need to get to the UHF connector series. Might not satisfy the DIY
jones, but it's quicker and cleaner..

What is wrong with using purchased N connectors? I used them on my LDF6 and

I recently picked up some Commscope SFX-500 and the specs seem to be
decent. I can buy N connectors but need to homebrew connectors with either
a PL-259 or SO-239 for HF use .
I have made many homebrew connectors for the standard .5 and .75 inch
hardline using compression fittings but am having issues finding the right
sized material for this feedline.
The outside aluminum jacket is .396 inch diameter and the center conductor
is .14 inch diameter. The outer jacket is almost small enough that I can
screw on a PL-259 but the center conductor is to large for the center pin
of the PL-259.
I appreciate any thoughts or ideas you may have.
Thanks in advance.
