Look at the antennas that I had at http://www.p40a.com Both towers had
aluminum masts turned with Yaesu G-2800DXA rotators. The masts were 2 1/2"
diameter and I pinned them per the manufacture's instructions. I had no
rotator or mast issues in the very windy environment.

I have a new Yaesu rotator model G-2800DXA which I will put in my Rohn 25
tower
in a month or two. The rotator comes with a pin to put through the mast (by
drilling out a hole through the mast). I know that would work in steel
masts, but do you think the aluminum is too soft to use that requirement so
should I not or should I do it?

I am looking for anyone who actually had to make that same decision and
their consequences, if any.
