You should really look at all the options to put whatever antenna you are
trying to support if its truly only needed at 26 - 28ft. What are the
regulations for "accessories to your already permitted house"? Like putting
a satellite dish on your roof or a TV antenna? A Rohn 25G with house
bracket is usually legally no different than a chimney mounted TV antenna.
Does the region have a height limit for homes and accessory attachments? If
you can stay below that, you will find life way easier and cash way lower.
How about a crank up Tower that cranks to 30 ft and nests at 18 or so? This
could also be "under the jurisdiction".
You should really check these options out and decide the value vs cost of
what you are doing.
One thing you never want to do is go into a building department and proclaim
that you want to build a tower on your property. You want to add a personal
use accessory structure to your property and you want to see what the
regulations are concerning height. PRB-1 provides that Building and Zoning
departments cannot force you to comply with commercial tower requirements
and approvals for a personal use Ham antenna. They can apply either
specific, and accommodating, ham antenna regulations, or they can apply
accessory structure regulations. If all of the 139mph wind stuff is applied
to every accessory structure at any height, then its tough sledding ahead.
But that is "rarely" the case (maybe Seminole County is an exception).
Find the easiest way to accomplish your goal.
