I cannot imagine Yaesu using Imperial units. They could be 10mm ball

A brand new one measures 9.22mm. Unlike the TB-3, The yaesy has a steel
race for the bearings and they are well greased. I'd just use wheel
bearing grease to redo them.
They appear much lighter than the TB-3 until you see the steel race.
How strong the casind? Don't know, but they are nicely finished
10 mm is 0.394 (0.3937***)
while 3/8 is 0.375, 9 mm is 0.354
IIRC (I threw them away), they are 9mm
That's from am old, fragile memory!

I'm always amazed at how threads wander off the original question. And
by how
much I learn from that. Thanks gents.
Also kinda amazed no one knows the diameter of the bearing balls.

Does anybody know what size balls are in the Yaesu GS-065 thrust
bearing? My
cheap caliper isn't precise enough. Looks like 3/8". They're rusted and
bumpy.
Has anyone had experience with ceramic balls?
The grease is so hard I'm having to soak it off so I can see the races. If
they're crafted, I'll just replace the whole thing.
