My club uses some home brew bandpass filters for FD. I usually check them
for low SWR every few years. Hook between transmitter (with SWR meter) and
a dummy load. Transmit on lower and upper edges of band and observe low
SWR.
We set up before FD begins and check elimination of cross band interference
during simultaneous transmit between CW and phone stations on different
bands. It works best when both rigs have a filter, and the antennas are
separated by at least 500 feet.
Our filters have a switch to cover the 5 HF bands we use for FD (no top band
operation). There is a pass-thru position for use on other bands.

Subject: [TowerTalk] How to test functionality of bandpass filters?
I am an officer of a local radio club. We have had a number of monoband
bandpass filters donated over the years that we would like to use for Field
Day, etc. The question is: How do we determine that they work?
Any advice will be appreciated.
