Several years ago a buddy of mine who is a crop duster and helicopter
pilot contracted to move a tower that had been pre-assembled at the
local airport laying flat on the ground and pick it up and transport it
to a mountain top where he was to raise it then vertically for an
install, great plan ! But when he picked it up, it started oscillating
back and forth and soon got away from him. After hitting two aircraft
parked nearby, he dumped it. End of tower and job! I never did hear the
outcome of this... who paid for the totaled aircraft and tower!!! lol
