I believe many towns have similar zoning laws: You may, without building permit
build a structure that is less than 100 sqf.
There are steel shipping/storage containers (aka ConEx) in the 8x8 foot
and 8x10 foot size. They're not nearly as common as the 20 and 40 foot
lengths, but they do exist.
