I have several F12 antennas in the air.  All U-bolts were spray painted with
silver color Rustoleum and allowed to dry completely before being installed.
None of these has rusted over the years here in the Texas humidity near
Houston.

I would replace the insulators.  IMO, it makes it a lot easier to re-install
the elements.  I taped mine with Scotch 88 before bolting to the boom plate.

Jerry,

I had a C3 up for 10 years and while the ubolts were a bit rusty, they came
apart just fine with a little WD-40.  I do live in a dry climate which has
something to do with it I'm sure.

cycle-24.com carries galvanized ubolts.
