When I purchased my Heights aluminum tower in 1999 I had them clear anodize
the tower. I also figured the weld joints may (or may not) suffer so I also
put each tower section on saw horses to paint them. I purchased two-part
automotive clear coat and ended up painting the entire tower section by
section. I painted the weld locations twice. Today, my tower (about 2 miles
from the ocean - but upwind mostly) shows no change from when I first put it
up. It looks brand new. Of course, it fell down due to unusual wind and
overload but the part that remains and the sections on the ground in storage
all look great. That story I already told here years ago. Perhaps overkill
but I don't regret it.

Call Force-12 back and ask them to have the tower anodized BEFORE
assembly! If they won't do it, take it COMPLETELY apart and have it
anodized locally! The salt will destroy that tower in no time. You can
pick your color, or have it clear anodized. I recommend a haze gray/sky
blue color.
Some will argue that the aluminum is already anodized from the mill,
which is true to an extent. However, its not the same as having it done
right!
