In order to illustrate an article on temporary tower-raising, I put
together a simple sum-of-forces diagram. Being a "milliamp and solder"
guy, I don't trust my ability to recall college-days Statics and

the ME/CE mavens out there contact me off-list to make a short review of
it? No wet-stamp required :-)

Hi Ward,
I certainly could do this for you, as I am retired from BU, where one of my
jobs was as a professor of mechanical engineering; I taught the statics
and dynamics courses over many years(among many, including a telecom course
and other science and math courses unrelated to ME).
Unfortunately, in Oct 2010, you asked for my help to write a chapter for
the Antenna Handbook, and a matter of weeks later then reneged, without any
rational explanation. This experience makes me personally reluctant to
assist you. But perhaps there are others here on the list who have a more
positive experience and can help you out. Wishing you luck on the article.
Best 73,
