Then how do you know that it is even grounded? I would contend that
covering the ground rod where it can't be visually inspected would be a
building code violation.
Can't emphasize the statement more that everything from the meter out is on
the power companies side of the equation. I installed underground copper
from the pole to the meter installing a surge arrestor at the connection
point ( to avoid overhead wires which seem smart with antennas). Long story
short - the power company made me remove the arrestor even though the $1K
copper wire was mine, it was just on their side of the interface. Ken K5RG
