Yes, unless you are not going to use it for anything. It is "attractive" for
lightning strikes and any strike will "lift it up" several kilovolts, maybe
even megavolts if it is not grounded. Anything attached to the tower will reach
the same high voltage. Now, if that is connected via a cable to anything in
your shack ..., will I have to write more?
