I've measured this on several occasions, and have consistently found
that the "binocular" format has significantly more distributed C than
the solenoidal/toroidal format. Therefore the impedance peak occurs at
a lower frequency.
Not that one works and the other doesn't; but they don't transfer one to
the other on a turns-for-turns basis.
