That stuff works great...I've used it as an after shave/conditioner and
didn't have to shave for a week. -M

Skyco Ospho Phosphoric Acid. http://ospho.com/
I used it on my rusty tower. It reacts with the rust forming a barrier that
can be painted. Let it set on the rust for 15 minutes, hose it off, let it
dry.
Got it at the hardware store.

An alternative is the Rust Bullet line of products, which are rust-reactive.
The product allegedly (and tests appear to substantiate it) react with any
existing rust to stop the oxidation process as well as forming a protective
barrier.
I just got a TM-358 and am going to be touching it up with this product
before raising.

I have a half pint? can somewhere of cold galvanize brush-on paint. The cap
has a brush attached. Actually, it is a heavy paste as that can weighs a
couple of pounds. There has to be a lot of zinc in it. Spray on cold
galvanize paint is only marginally effective in Hawaii. At least with this
stuff you can put on a definite layer that far exceeds what you get with the
spray.

Steve, et. al:
Has the EPA or someone else banned cold galvanizing spray pint?? I've been
to a
Wal-Mart, a Lowe's, and Home Depot, plus a hardware store and no one carries
it
anymore and they look at me kinda funny when I ask about it.? One guy in the
paint department at Lowe's said he had never heard of it.
I remember seeing it all over the place just a few months ago and now that I
have a need for it, I can't find it anywhere.
