There are those ( Yellow with black stripes ) fiberglass covers used by
some tower companies as well.
All you can do is make them as visible as possible and plan for the worst.
I've found many contractors just run over of try to push any thing in
the way ... out of the way, or do not pay much attention.
If you have something that they might possibly hit, talk with whoever is
doing the work, or the foreman if a crew and point out the potential for
hitting it and the potential results. Course maybe they always wanted
to see a tower come down.
When they poured my tower base they managed to hook the overhead lines (
Power, Telephone, and cable). Fortunately they were pulling "from the
pole" and not from the house. The steel messenger for the power line
held, but they must have had that pole bent over at least 3 or 4 feet.
The phone and cable did not survive. There is a drop from that pole to
the house across the road. I think they may have managed to pull the
weatherhead a bit out of line, but I never hears of any actual damage to
the house. We have since gone to all underground from the pole.
