Thanks very much to Dave, Bill, Jim, Julio, and Chris for your thoughtful
replies.
I went with the majority vote - 4 out of 5 doctors recommend using the damaged
sections as buried bases, or not at all.
So, since I already had a 5' base section, I did not buy them.
Since the damage was conveniently at the very bottom, and the rest of each
damaged section was in perfect condition, I guess I can now say that I know a
guy in EPA who has two nice 10' base sections of 45G.
So if anybody needs one, let me know and I'll put him in touch with you.
I'm happy to say that I now have 100' of 55G and 80' of 45G.
Now comes the hard part - getting it up in the air!!
I'm sure I'll be pinging you guys again with plenty of questions before too
long.
