Hi Gang,

I'm having difficulty setting up my FT-2000 and Steppir with N1MM. I tried
using the setting for the FT-2000 and also the one for the
FT-1000MP-Steppir. Does anyone know if my combo will work and what setting
to use?

Rob,
Not sure about the antenna, but those 'square' boom-element brackets
are definitely a clue for someone who is familiar with it. Optibeam
?? Not sure.

The rotor is a Ham-M, or Ham-III, or Ham-IV, or T2X. The control box
may offer some help, but the UNDERSIDE of the rotor casing will
identify it when it is removed from the tower.

Good luck

Rob

I believe the antenna is a Force 12 XR-5.
(C3 with 17 and 12 meter elements on an 18' ft boom)

I believe the antenna is a Force-12, the rotator is Ham-M, or IV, but not a
T2X.

Why do you feel the need to "take it apart"? Does it rotate the antenna?
The brake on a Hy-Gain rotor is very loud. It's a large AC operated solenoid
that pulls the brake wedge away from the braking collar.

The square riveted boom to element brackets are similar to those I had on
Force 12 antennae. I don't know for sure which Force 12 antenna that is,
but I would guess it's a C something.

Wedge brake rotators do make a sound when the brake is actuated. I
had a house bracketed tower ONCE. I could hear all manner of vibrations
from the antennas.

Yaesu rotators use a worm gear and not a wedge brake. So they don't
go thump in the night.
