Jim, I own and moderate several Yahoo Groups and am a member of numerous
other mail lists. The problem that users with Gmail accounts do not
receive their own posts to mail lists is well known and unsolvable
directly. It's a *terrible* Gmail "feature."
Every email has a "serial number." Gmail checks inbound emails against
the list of serial numbers of emails you sent; it they match, Gmail
discards the inbound email. They call this a "feature."
This causes many duplicate postings because folks think their email was
not distributed by the mail list. You must check the archives or Yahoo
Group messages to find your own email to *know* that your email was
distributed.
Yes, you can open a second Gmail email account with a different user
name and use that; But, then you need both email addresses to be
registered with the mail list or you must remember to manually add the
other email to your "To" list. Inconvenient...
Dump Gmail and get a different email provider, or, better, don't use web
mail at all and get a real email client such as Thunderbird. This avoids
having all your email stored on some remote server with unknown security.
