The secret is to mechanically isolate the connectors from any of the rotational forces. One of our neophytes at W5RRR used LMR-400 in the VHF/UHF antennas system and the failure was when the cable screwed itself right out of the soldered connector. One of the well known EME experts told me cables like this were fine for rotator loops (one loop around the mast) as long as the connectors were mechanically 'isolated'.
