Yes they are interchangeable (G800 also), however SDX and DXA have different
connectors so you may need to build an adaptor pigtail. However the five
control lines & pins are the same (azimuth pot pins 1, 2, 3; +/- DC for
motor pins 4,5).
For debugging you can just take an adjustable DC power supply out to the
tower and can turn the rotor with about 15-20V DC. The azimuth pot wants to
see a total of 500 ohms across it, and the wiper differential defines where
the rotor is pointing (be sure to disconnect the indoor controller first).
