Steve,

Cut and build the antenna to the length you determine it should be.

After you put it up, test it to see if it works as you wish.

Wire antennas are NOT as 'fussy' as yagis .. .and a lot more tolerant  
of 'wrong' dimensions.

Work DX ... and enjoy!
