I've been reading the Antenna book and toying with the idea of shunt feeding my tower for the low bands. My current tower is a 70 footer self supporting with a SteppIR MonstIR on top. The top of the mast is at 86 feet (5 feet inside the tower to the rotor, 21 foot mast). I have a VHF/UHF vertical for repeater work on the top. Has anyone shunt fed a tower with a SteppIR? What sort of issues did they run into? How effective will it be on 75/80? What about 160?
