I used to have several hawks back in FL who used to perch on the tops of tower or on the booms. I guess they thought the towers were dead trees. I climbed the towers a few times as they sat on the booms and I passed them as I climbed up. They gave me the uh...eagle eye, but never flinched. They did not attack or make any sort of hostile movement. However, these were not watching a nest, so who knows.
