Aluminum is about 0.1 lb/cubic inch, and you need about 14-15 cubic inches, so
call it a pound and a half. Aluminum is about $1/lb wholesale, probably
$2.50/lb in milled form, your 1.5 lbs would be $3-4 bucks retail, so you're
paying a bit of a premium buying it from McMaster.. on the other hand, there's
no cutting charge, and it's delivered UPS to your front door.
