Hi Gang,
After being here in the Town of Napanee for about 35 years we decided it was
just about time to move. One of the reasons, the digital noise from the
neighbourhood electronics is growing louder by the day making the hobby of
Ham Radio harder and harder to enjoy. My wife Marlene - VE3HBR also wanted
a newer place on one main floor c/w a larger sewing room and closer to
family. In a previous e-mail to the TT group I had mentioned the
possibility of one place located on a mostly solid rock terrain, we decided
against that place.
The house we bought is located at the end of a dead end road with the
nearest neighbour being about 1/2 Km away (1/3 mile) and other neighbours
well beyond that. The hydro line is less than 10 years old with what looks
to me like modern insulators, new transformer and the feed to the house
drops underground for about 100 foot before it comes to the main panel. My
RFI site noise test had me thinking my mobile HF rig was dead - even with
the preamp on. At least on the day we tested the site the floor noise was
zero.

Closing date is less than two weeks, but I suspect at least a year before we
can get at least one of my towers up. A couple of wire antennas will be
tossed in the air ASAP. Looking forward to working all of you from the new
QTH.
