Hi Jack,

Go to your local Home Depot/Lowes or any place that sells irrigation PVC pipe. 
There you will find a plug for 1/2" PVC. This cap does not have a round top, 
it's a hexagon; it's white, threaded and used to plug a "T" when a riser is no 
longer needed.

I just RTV those babies in the ends of the boom and I'm done. No rust, no 
leaks, no bugs.
