When cutting phasing lines for my RX antennas I always measure the
velocity factor accurately before precise cutting. I had previously
measured a 500' roll of Vextra RG-6 (non-flooded) purchased from Lowe's.
This roll was ~10 years old, manufactured in NC and measured Vf = 0.8163.
About 5 years ago I bought 5 X 1000' rolls from a local distributor at a low
price (<$.03 per ft). This cable is flooded RG-6 and manufactured by Times
Fiber Amphenol in Canada. Imagine my surprise when it also measured exactly
0.8163!
Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket today. ;-)

P.S. The odds must be ~1000:1, assuming 4 digit numbers from 0.8000 to
0.8999.
