The Tesla Coil!!!!!!!!!!!
Look it up. Tesla dude invented it for worldwide communications. He said
if done right, he would be able to use the earth as a conductor and could
transmit a radio signal thorough the earth and the air and talk to any point
on the earth that had a matching coil. He was on his way to proving it in
New Jersey when he ran out of money and backers.
Nowadays the Tesla Coil is just a sideshow spectacle with few people doing
any serious experiments with it. The cool thing, however, is that he was
broadcasting electricity miles away and able to light electrical light with
no wires and run electric motors. And this was before 1900.
