I am the Moderator of the Tennadyne Yahoo Group and have owned my T-6 for about
7 years. I will take exception to Joe's (W4TV) comment about Boom to Element
failures. In the year and half I have had the Tennadyne group I have never
heard of anyone having any mechanical problems with the antenna. Mine is one
of the Texas Tennadynes, but with over 70 members of the Group, we have never
had a message about mechanical failures. There is a lot of discussions about
feeding the antenna and some have had better luck than others, but no other
problems have surfaced.
If you are interested in a lot of data about the Electrical Performance please
feel free to join the group and go through the "Files" & "Photo" section of the
group website.

The T6 has a higher gain due to a boom that is more than twice
the length of the 2 element SteppIR. The 3 element SteppIR is
a much better "apples to apples" comparison with either the T6
or T8.

Reports of metal fatigue at the boom to element joints of the
Tennadyne antenna are quite common.
